Help Support UNICEF's Emergency Response in Lebanon

by UNICEF USA

On Sunday, August 15, an explosion of a fuel tank in the town of al-Tleil in the northern region of Akkar killed 28 people, including one child. The escalating fuel crisis is having a detrimental impact on children’s lives.

UNICEF is providing emergency support to Jeitawi and Rahhal hospitals, delivering essential Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) items, including surgical masks, gowns, and other supplies to support the medical response to treat the injured.

Lebanon is already experiencing a multi-dimensional economic and political crisis compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic. One year after the devastating explosions in Beirut, a UNICEF survey shows the needs of affected children and families remain acute, with 98 percent of families still in need.

UNICEF has continued to help children get back to school, distribute essential nutrition and hygiene supplies, deliver psychosocial support, provide cash grants to the most vulnerable families, and support the rehabilitation of health care facilities, schools, and water supply services.

Please consider making a gift to support the children of Lebanon. Thank you for joining UNICEF USA to protect every child.
