World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is on the ground in Tennessee supporting families impacted by a series of storms and tornadoes that displaced and left thousands of people across the state without power.
Working alongside Big Al’s Deli, our longtime partner in Nashville, our teams are providing hundreds of sandwiches in the hardest hit parts of the state.
The storms hit central Tennessee over the weekend, destroying hundreds of homes and killing at least 6 people. One of the tornadoes in Nashville hit with winds reaching 125 miles per hour. Another tornado traveled dozens of miles, causing widespread devastation across two counties. Nearly 20,000 people remained without power as of Monday morning.

When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or emergency kitchens, WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly and effectively.
