Support Sudan and Families in Crisis Worldwide
de INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE INCOver 30 million people in Sudan urgently need help. By donating to the International Rescue Committee (IRC), you can deliver lifesaving aid where it’s needed most.
Sudan is facing the largest humanitarian crisis ever recorded. More than two years of civil war have left more than 30 million—over half the population—in urgent need of aid. With over 12 million people displaced, families are escaping on dangerous journeys through conflict zones and across national borders.
Civilians are bearing the brunt of the war in Sudan. With food supplies collapsing and prices skyrocketing, famine conditions are spreading across the country. Extreme levels of food insecurity and malnutrition are affecting over 25 million people, while more than 750,000 people are already experiencing catastrophic levels of hunger and a daily risk of starvation.
Despite the immense needs, the global response is falling short. In 2024, Sudan’s humanitarian response plan was only 63% funded—leaving millions without the aid they urgently need.
Together, we can make a difference.
The IRC has been working in Sudan since 1981. Our teams work tirelessly to deliver lifesaving services to civilians caught in the crossfire of Sudan’s ongoing civil war. In response to growing needs, we have scaled up our response—providing health care, nutrition, clean water, emergency support, and protection and empowerment programs for women and children.
The IRC is also responding to the needs of Sudanese families displaced across borders—in Uganda, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Chad—where families are arriving malnourished and with little more than they can carry. We're providing critical health and nutrition support to help these refugees survive, recover, and rebuild their lives.
