Support IRC’s Response in Gaza and Crises Worldwide
チャリティ活動名 INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE INCMore than 20 months of war have left Gaza in ruin. Israeli airstrikes, bombing and ground-level fighting between Israel and Hamas have killed over 50,000 Palestinians according to OCHA, destroyed critical infrastructure, including homes, hospitals, schools, shelters, religious sites and essential services like bakeries. With no place safe across the whole of Gaza, Palestinians are being pushed to the edge of survival, struggling to access food, clean water and life-saving medical services.
The conflict-induced humanitarian suffering in Gaza is catastrophic, with more than two million Palestinians—half of them children—living without access to sufficient water, food and medical care. Restrictions on aid are making it difficult for families to access basic necessities. Altogether, 3.3 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance across Gaza and the West Bank.
While a ceasefire was announced in January 2025 offering a chance to shield civilians from further harm, achieve the release of hostages, and scale up humanitarian aid to meet the urgent needs of the population, Israel’s renewed airstrikes on Gaza in mid-March have killed hundreds of civilians, including children.
Despite the obstacles the International Rescue Committee faces, we have continued to reach Palestinians in need with vital services throughout the conflict and are saving lives ever day. Empowered by our unique partnership approach, we have collaborated with our highly experienced local partners to provide life-saving services. We have leveraged our expertise in emergency response and deep regional experience to reach tens of thousands of children and adults in both Gaza and the West Bank with critical services to help them survive, cope and start to lay the foundations for recovery during this devastating crisis.
As of May 2025, we have provided programming that has supported the health, education, safety and economic wellbeing of more than 430,00 people (total reach the IRC and partners in both Gaza and the West Bank). We are working to improve the lives of 150,000 people by the end of 2025.
In Gaza, the IRC is delivering clean drinking water alongside sanitation and hygiene services, including building emergency latrines and distributing hygiene and menstrual health kids. We are also providing cash assistance to help families meet urgent needs.
Our protection programs prioritize the safety and well-being of women and children. In addition to case management, we’re helping children and caregivers cope with distress through mental health and psychosocial support. Together with local partners, IRC teams are treating malnutrition and offering nutrition counseling and care for children and their caregivers. We’re also providing early childhood development activities to help children grow and thrive.
In the West Bank, the IRC and our partners are initiating early childhood development activities and support for children and families affected by violence. This includes mental health care, psychosocial support, and help for survivors of abuse, as well as training frontline workers to respond in a safe and respectful way.
