Help UNHCR's Emergency Response in Lebanon
por US Association for UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency)In just a few days, over 100,000 Syrians and Lebanese—60% of whom are children and youth—have crossed the borders into Syria. This sudden surge has overwhelmed the ability of humanitarian agencies to respond. The government of Lebanon estimates that 1 million people have been affected by the latest escalation. UNHCR is on the ground, delivering life-saving aid, including over 40,000 emergency relief items at the Syrian border, but our resources are being stretched beyond capacity. Without increased support, countless families could be left without the assistance they desperately need.
Your support is urgently needed for UNHCR and its partners to continue this lifesaving work.
Your donation today will:
Help humanitarian partners already on the ground in Beirut, Saida, Bekaa and Northern Lebanon distribute core relief items to those newly displaced.
Ensure UNHCR’s continued psychosocial support to refugee families.
Secure access to prepositioned medical equipment and allow UNHCR to support the Health Ministry in its procurement of trauma kits.
Protect those displaced and assist humanitarian partner assessments of shelters and coordination of cash assistance.
