Ukraine remains the largest ICRC operation in 2025.
The ongoing international armed conflict in Ukraine continues to impose severe challenges on people who have already endured three years of immense hardship. Our teams are tirelessly delivering life-saving assistance where it is needed most, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and other partners within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Volatile security conditions create considerable challenges for us. Sometimes, they come at a tragic cost: in 2024, three of our staff members were killed, and two others wounded, after shelling hit a front-line area where we had planned to distribute aid.
In 2024, your contributions have enabled us to achieve:
• Determined the fate of 3,017 people reported missing due to the international armed conflict, providing answers to their families.
• Ensured that 128,718 people in conflict-affected areas had food by distributing parcels. Additionally, provided 16,985 people with greenhouses, agricultural supplies, and equipment (or cash to purchase them) to enhance food security for their families and communities.
• Provided cash financial aid to 6,809 people.
• Improved access to essential services such as water, heating, and electricity for 2,877,979 people by supporting utility service providers.
• Supported 29 primary healthcare facilities and 87 hospitals near front lines with medicines and medical equipment to treat the wounded.
• Enabled 227,522 people to improve their living conditions and endure the harsh winter by donating hygiene supplies and other essential household items.
• Helped 984 children resume or continue their education by providing school kits and learning materials.
Your support enables us to continue to save and change lives. Thank you for working with us to bring hope to people in Ukraine.
